Benjamin Earley is a scholar of classics and ancient history. He studied ancient history and classics in Durham and received a doctorate from the University of Bristol in 2013 with a thesis on “The influence of Thucydides on Eighteenth-Century Political Thought”. His work at Topoi comprise the investigation of the paradigmatic perception of the Delian League as a “maritime empire” on hegemonial concepts in modern and early modern contexts.
