In diesem Projekt wurde die Frage untersucht, welchen Transformationsprozess Nordmesopotamien im 12.–10. Jh. v. Chr. durchmacht und ob die Ursache für das in der Standardliteratur behauptete „Dunkle Zeitalter“ in einen Klimawandel oder in anthropogener Einflussnahme zu suchen ist.
