Research

Especially in the 15th and 16th century we can observe a shift in representation of the city’s imago: the perspective of the visitor immersed in the urban space, moving from one place to another, is more and more adopted: in “vedute” by choosing a locatable point of view, in texts by describing practicable routes. The project aims to illustrate that Rome, which has always been a city in motion, from the 15th century onwards is also increasingly portrayed as a space of motion.

This dissertation project was successfully completed in March 2015.
