Abstract
The identification of the names of locations in Ptolemy’s Geography is a well known big problem for historians of geography. The monograph essentially uses geodetic correction methods in order to deduces reliable results in this respect. In such a way it deals with Gallia Belgica, Germania Magna, Raetica and Vincelica, Noricum. It especially determines the location of the island Thule.
